If the Church is on earth for the Tribulation, why would God need to send witnesses down from heaven to share the gospel?Revelation Chapter 6 is AN OVERVIEW OF THE ENTIRE TRIBULATION (like Daniel chapter 2 is for the Book of Daniel). After Revelation Chapter 6, the Chronological Order of events will be: 1. AT THE BEGINNING OF THE TRIBULATION: The Tribulation Temple is built and the ministry of the Two Witnesses (Moses and Elijah) takes place for 3 ½ years. The False Prophet kills the Two Witnesses at the mid-way point of the Tribulation. 2. Revelation 6:17 asks, “Who shall be able to stand?” Revelation Chapter 7 answers that question. It shows a vision of the saving and sealing of the 144,000 Jewish Witnesses (the first fruits of the ministry of the Two Witnesses) and the winning of a great Gentile multitude. 3. The “One Third” Judgments in Revelation Chapter 8 (the Beginning of Sorrows in Matthew 24:4-8) and the Invasion of Demonic Locusts in Revelation Chapter 9. This is the first 3 1/2 years of the Tribulation Period. 4. AT THE MIDWAY POINT: A Transition takes place- The Antichrist declares himself to be God Almighty, and he and the False Prophet form a Satanic Super-Team. The False Prophet calls down fire from heaven upon the Vatican, destroying Catholicism and their competition. 5. Revelation 17-18- The Judgment of the Great Whore and Vatican City takes place. 6. Revelation 12-13 (Parenthetical Chapters) Introduces the main characters of the Great Tribulation- Israel, Satan, Christ, the Antichrist and the False Prophet.7. FROM THE MID-WAY POINT TO THE END OF THE GREAT TRIBULATION: God’s wrath is poured out in full strength upon the kingdom of the Beast- culminating in the Battle of Armageddon. 8. The Second Coming and Armageddon- After Christ returns, an interval of 45 days will take place before the Millennial Kingdom Age begins (Daniel 12:11-12). Satan is imprisoned & all unbelievers are removed from the earth. 9. The Millennial Kingdom Age- Lasts for 1000 years upon this earth, with Jesus ruling and reigning from Jerusalem.10. The Last Rebellion- When the 1000 years are finished, Satan will be loosed from the bottomless pit and will go out to deceive those who have refused to receive Christ during the Millennial Kingdom Age. These will be devoured by fire from heaven.11. The Great White Throne Judgment of the Lost- After the heavens and earth are dissolved (see 2 Peter 3:10-13), the servants of sin will be sentenced individually to varying degrees of eternal punishment in the lake of fire. 12. A Study of Abraham’s Bosom- The Abode of all Old Testament saints before Calvary.
